According to CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz, the Ducks are set to hire former Las Vegas Raiders assistant coach Rip Rowan, who will work with the defensive staff in Eugene. Before working with the Raiders, Rowan served as the defensive line coach for the Washington Huskies and the Georgia Southern Eagles.

During his time in Seattle, Rowan worked under head coach Jimmy Lake and coached alongside the likes of Pete Carroll and Chip Kelly this past year. He started as a defensive analyst in 2019 with the Huskies and later became the defensive line coach. He then moved on to Georgia Southern in 2023 before jumping to the NFL level with the Raiders.

Rowan was listed on 247Sports’ “30 Under 30” listing of “rising stars” in college football in 2019.

Before his coaching career, Rowan was a four-year letterman as a defensive lineman and linebacker at Austin Peay.
