Jayson Tatum returned to active play on Friday for the Boston Celtics after a major Achilles injury. Most players who suffer from that injury usually miss the entirety of the following season.

The Celtics star is unlike most players because he has already returned after nine months on the shelf. While this is huge news for Boston, it seems their Eastern Conference rivals, the New York Knicks, are focused on their own game.
Towns and the Knicks are focused on themselves amid Tatum's return
Tatum is always an important player to look for in the NBA. He is arguably a top-five player when healthy, and he proved that by having a superb performance during his first night back.
Of course, a lot of NBA players would be impressed with his return. They would also be thinking about the implications of his return. That is not the case for Knicks big man Karl-Anthony Towns, who is solely focused on himself and his team.

The Celtics have done a wonderful job of staying in the top seeds without Tatum. Now that he is back, they could be a title contender when the Playoffs roll around. That also means they will be competing against the Knicks.
"I mean, it doesn’t matter to me because at the end of the day, if we’re not executing and playing at a high level and being disciplined, it doesn’t matter who’s on the court. We’ll lose," Towns said about Tatum's return to the active roster.
"We’ve got to be our best version. You can’t be worrying about anyone else. We need to worry what’s in house first."
It is a good mindset to have because the Knicks have their own problems to worry about. They are a superb team, but they can be quite inconsistent.
In the long run, New York could be a much better team if they continue focusing on themselves.
