Stark claims first FIM SuperEnduro Manufacturers' World Championship title
Liévin, France, 7 March 2026: Stark secured the 2026 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship Manufacturers' Title, marking the first time an electric motorcycle manufacturer has won the title in the series.
The FIM SuperEnduro World Championship is widely regarded as one of the most demanding disciplines in off-road motorcycle racing. Riders compete on tight indoor enduro tracks featuring obstacles such as rock gardens, logs, and technical jumps. For decades, the championship has been dominated by combustion-powered machines and factory teams from major manufacturers.
During the 2026 season, Stark's VARG EX competed directly against these established manufacturers and some of the sport's leading riders, including multiple-time world champion Billy Bolt and fellow factory-backed competitor Jonny Walker.
Eddie Karlsson delivered a strong and consistent campaign aboard the Stark VARG EX, finishing the championship 4th overall, playing a crucial role in securing vital points throughout the season and helping propel Stark to the top of the manufacturers' standings.
Joining the team for the 2026 campaign, Toby Martyn quickly adapted to both the demanding SuperEnduro discipline and the high-performance platform, finishing the season 5th overall and contributing valuable points toward the historic title-winning effort.
Together, the riders demonstrated the performance, durability, and competitiveness of the Stark VARG platform across some of the most challenging indoor enduro tracks in the world.
For Sebastien Tortelli, Stark Racing Director, the moment carries both professional and deeply personal significance.
"Our riders' exceptional performances have culminated in a historic achievement: securing our first-ever FIM SuperEnduro World Manufacturers' Championship title. This represents a major milestone for Stark, the team, and everyone who has contributed to this journey.
The hard work and dedication of the team in Barcelona, particularly in developing the VARG, have been instrumental in making this possible. This victory is also deeply meaningful to me on a personal level. Just two and a half years ago, here at this same event, we were turned away from racing the series. Since then, we have worked tirelessly along with the FIM and Promoter to make this happen, always applying our company philosophy and pushing the boundaries of what is possible. It hasn't been easy, but to now achieve our first FIM World Championship at the same event 2 years later is an incredible and deeply rewarding achievement."
The journey from being denied entry to the championship to lifting a world title in just a few short years reflects the rapid evolution of Stark's technology and racing program.
For Anton Wass, CEO and Founder of Stark, the championship victory validates the company's founding mission.
"From the beginning, our goal was simple: build the best off-road motorcycles in the world and prove their performance at the highest level of Racing. Winning the FIM SuperEnduro Manufacturers' World Championship shows what is possible when innovation, engineering, and racing ambition come together."
At the heart of the success lies Stark's cutting-edge engineering.
Paul Soucy, Chief Technology Officer, emphasized the significance of the achievement from a technical perspective:
"This championship demonstrates the incredible potential of the VARG platform. From power delivery and traction to reliability and control, the technology has proven itself under the most demanding racing conditions. This is a huge milestone for the entire engineering team."
A Defining Moment for Electric Racing?
Stark has once again redefined the limits of off-road racing by securing the 2026 FIM SuperEnduro Manufacturers' World Championship. This momentous victory not only showcases the company's commitment to high-performance electric motorcycles but also further solidifies its leadership in the global shift towards electricfication.
With what seemed ridiculous, unimaginable, and especially impossible has now become a reality, this achievement significantly builds on Stark's previous historic milestone of obtaining a Guinness World Record for the highest altitude world record. This achievement, which once seemed ridiculous, unimaginable, and especially impossible, has now become a reality. Eddie Karlsson: #42
"First of all, I'm really happy for the team and everyone involved. To secure the manufacturer's title in SuperEnduro is really special. I'm also pleased to finish fourth overall in the championship.
We improved throughout the season, with three podiums and some really close battles. Taking a SuperPole in the final round was also a great moment.
Overall I'm very happy with the season and already looking forward to next year to keep improving and fight for wins."
Toby Martyn: #212
"The final round in France was always going to be a tough evening, with the track being really physical. I had a really good SuperPole lap, which gave me 4th gate pick. In race one, I got caught up in traffic and had to fight my way through from behind, but I had good starts in races two and three and was able to battle with the top guys. Unfortunately, a small crash and some arm pump got the better of me.
Overall, though, I'm happy to finish the night fifth overall and fifth in the championship. It's also really cool to clinch the Manufacturers' Championship for Stark, a great achievement for the whole team after all the hard work."
