Man and woman sought in several locker thefts at Clarington rec centres

Durham Regional Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a man and a woman who were allegedly involved in a series of locker thefts at recreation centres across Clarington.

Police say the duo stole wallets and bank cards from lockers at the Courtice Community Complex and the Diane Hamre Recreation Complex in December 2025.

Police say they then used the bank cards at retail locations for high-value fraudulent purchases.

Eduard-Andrei Sandu, 35, of Toronto, is wanted for 16 counts of fraud under $5,000, 11 counts of possessing/using credit cards obtained by offence, three counts of theft under $5,000, three counts of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, two counts of “have face disguised,” five counts of possessing property obtained by crime under $5,000, five counts of personation to gain advantage, and mischief under $5,000.

Irina-Georgiana Didei, 29, of North York, is wanted for three counts of theft under $5,000, three counts of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, and two counts of “have face disguised.”

Another suspect nabbed in gym locker thefts

Meanwhile, another man was arrested by police for similar thefts at gyms in Durham.

The man allegedly was seen going through several gym bags and lockers in a change room at Planet Fitness, located at 2377 Durham Regional Highway 2 on Feb. 5.

Police said he was apprehended by an off-duty officer and was taken into custody without incident.

Police later confirmed that he matched the description of a man banned from several other gyms for thefts.

Ravneet Gandhi, 18, from Brampton, is charged with three counts of theft under $5,000, three counts of possessing property obtained by crime under $5,000, theft of a credit card, two counts of using a credit card obtained by offence, possessing a credit card obtained by offence, two counts of possessing counterfeit currency, possession of a Schedule I substance (cocaine), and procuring identity document of another.

He was held for a bail hearing.
