Bayern's Kompany already excited by Madrid duel

Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany is already looking forward to their Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid after the 10-2 aggregate thrashing of Atalanta in the last 16.

The first leg will be played on Tuesday, April 7 in Madrid with the second leg on Wednesday, April 15 at the Allianz Arena.

"This quarter-final is fantastic," Kompany told reporters. "This simply has to be good for football. It's top-top-top-level football now. The history of both clubs is simply so huge."

No pairing has occurred more often in European competition than Bayern against Real. The two top clubs have already faced each other 28 times in the Champions League.

Bayern have won 12 matches and Madrid also 12, although the Spaniards have had the upper hand in recent years.
