A “Platinum” Octagon return?

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) superstar, Mike Perry, is set to return to mixed martial arts (MMA) in two months, taking on former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fan-favorite, Nate Diaz, in a triple-headliner for MVP MMA 1, which goes down inside Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, Calif., streaming exclusively on Netflix.

When Perry was released from the UFC in 2021 following a middling run, few expected what would come next.

But “Platinum” flipped the script.

After a one-off appearance in a now-defunct Triad Combat, Perry signed with BKFC and quickly turned into one of the most must-watch fighters in combat sports. Over the past four years, he’s essentially carried the promotion on his back — all while building his profile even further with a high-profile boxing match against Jake Paul.

Now, he’s on the verge of the biggest payday of his career when he meets Diaz — and depending on how that fight plays out, the future gets very interesting.

Especially when it comes to a potential UFC return.

“I would definitely say never say never,” Perry said when asked by Jon Anik about a return to the Octagon. “I’ve seen things, but I don’t want to talk too soon because I have to focus on the task at hand. I think I just demolish this… and you see the best Platinum Mike Perry — in the ring, Octagon — sorry, Hexagon. MVP puts on a good show, and I’m excited to showcase what I could when I do go back.”

Perry has maintained a solid relationship with UFC brass, which only adds fuel to the idea that a return isn’t out of the question — especially if he scores a big win over Diaz.

And if that happens?

Well, there’s also the small matter of a certain Irish superstar — who just so happens to be Perry’s boss in BKFC — waiting in the wings as a potential storyline.

Time will tell.
