Meet the Mets

The Mets beat the Giants in lopsided fashion for the second straight night, this time shutting them out 9-0 behind a fantastic performance from Clay Holmes, who yielded just three hits over seven shutout innings, striking out four and walking two. The Mets put up a five spot in the fifth inning, punctuated by a three-run homer by Tyrone Taylor, who came off the bench and collected two hits and four RBIs. Mark Vientos played the role of the spark plug, amassing three hits, including two doubles and being central to both big rallies for the Mets.
