Do you know how impressively you have to hit a baseball that goes almost straight into the ground to then turn it into a double?
Cincinnati Reds superstar Elly De La Cruz demonstrated such a swing on Monday night.
He hit a grounder that couldn't have gone more than 20 feet in front of the plate before it's initial contact with the earth.
It was hit so hard, though, that it zipped through the infield.
Still, the centerfielder played it well. Most hitters would be happy with a hard-hit single. Not Elly.
He showed off his blazing speed to race to second with a double.

Being on second base and not first was crucial for the Reds, because De La Cruz then scored on a single from Sal Stewart.
The baseball season is long, and so it can be easy to take little things for granted. But this was De La Cruz making the most of a ground ball, and it led to the first run in a 2-0 Reds win over the Marlins.
That win may prove crucial in a close standings race at the end of the year, and it all came about because De La Cruz's massive physical tools combined with impressive effort and desire to create a cool play.
