Lumberjacks roll to sweeps over Moorhead, Sauk Rapids-Rice

Apr. 9—SAUK RAPIDS — The Bemidji High School boys tennis team won each of its 14 matches on Thursday in Sauk Rapids.
The Lumberjacks swept Moorhead and Sauk Rapids-Rice by scores of 7-0 in a slate of matches that were originally set to be played in Bemidji but were moved due to weather.

Owen Lappinga, Josh Arel and Blake Friese each won both of their matches at Nos. 1, 2 and 3 singles in straight sets. Elihu Broten and Logan Berg each won a two-set match at No. 4 singles.
Peter Matthews and Chase Fairchild led the way at No. 1 doubles, as did Ethan Frank and Paul Gifford in the second doubles slot. Broten and Tobi Wessloh defeated the Storm's No. 3 duo, while Hudson Moussa and Berg cruised by the Spuds in straight sets.
