CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Baseball at The Joe will look a little different this weekend as Banana Ball has taken over downtown Charleston. One Charleston native made his return back to the Lowcountry on Friday night.

Former Fort D standout Jalen Vasquez is playing the infield for new Banana Ball side the Indianapolis Clown as they are taking on the Loco Beach Coconuts.

Jalen told News 2 on Friday during batting practice, the whole experience the first month of the season has been crazy. To be around former big leaguers in sold out crowds in front of thousands of fans has brought back the joy of baseball.

Being from near by North Charleston, Vasquez only had two tickets to his name on Friday but scalped from both teams to end up with over 50.

A full circle moment this weekend for the former Patriot from young fans.
