A transfer portal forward will visit Kentucky instead of Indiana

· Yahoo Sports

The Kentucky Wildcats basketball team continues to cast a wide net in the transfer portal trying to add talent to next year's roster. A new name on the list is Sebastian Rancik, a forward who was originally scheduled to visit Indiana this week. Now, he's visiting Lexington instead.

Rancik is a 6'9", 210 lb power forward who entered the portal from the Colorado Buffaloes, where he spent his first two seasons. On3's Jamie Shaw is reporting (subscription required) that Rancik canceled a visit with Indiana to come to Kentucky instead, which is certainly a positive sign of mutual interest.

Last season, Rancik averaged 12.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game for Colorado. He also shot 33% from three-point range, something Pope values in his big men. He was also an 86% shooter from the free throw line.

It has been tough going for the Wildcats and Pope so far. They need talent in a big way, and Rancik is certainly a player who can help win games. He would have two years of eligibility remaining. We will update his recruitment as more information becomes available.
