South Hunterdon’s Jack Budrewicz didn’t know what to expect coming in as a freshman last spring for the Eagles baseball team.

But he got his at-bats and delivered with a .290 average, 15 RBIs and 10 stolen bases playing in all 25 games.
“I didn’t expect to play as much as I did last season as a freshman, but it worked out,” Budrewicz said. “It felt really good to contribute as a freshman and we had a winning record (14-11).”
Now, he’s a seasoned sophomore and off to a strong start hitting .333.

There’s a buzz for South Hunterdon baseball as the Eagles started 4-0 for the first time since 2010. Budrewicz, who threw just 1 1/3 innings last year, has done his part. He struck out seven in four innings allowing a hit, three walks and an earned run with seven strikeouts in relief during a win over North Warren on April 11. He also went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
