“Staying in Tiger Town 🐅,” Welling wrote.

There’s still uncertainty surrounding his availability, though. Welling is working his way back from a torn ACL suffered during Clemson’s ACC Tournament win over Wake Forest on March 11, and there’s no clear timeline for when he’ll return. His role next season remains unclear, but Clemson at least knows he won’t be heading elsewhere. The transfer portal closes Tuesday.

Before the injury, Welling was a steady contributor. He played in 32 games, making 24 starts, and averaged 10.2 points and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 49.3 percent from the field. He also chipped in across the stat sheet with assists, blocks and steals.

His path to Clemson included a strong season at Utah Valley, where he earned All-WAC second-team honors and was named the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year. Prior to that, he spent his freshman year at UC Irvine, appearing in 30 games.
