The Roughriders (36-16) jumped out to a four-run lead in the top of the first inning. Spencer Mounce drove in Maddox Morrison with a double to right field, Camren Stratton scored on a Lawson Ward ground out, Ryan Stalony drove in Mounce with a double to center and Carson Arnold hit a liner to right that plated Stalony.

Crowder stretched its lead to 5-0 when Morrison stole home in the top of the second inning, but the Norsemen got on the board in the bottom of the frame when Adrian Santana drove in Loic Guillemette (one of 11 Canadians on the NEO roster) with a single to center field.

Arnold made it a 6-1 game in the top of the third when he scored on a wild pitch, but NEO made the game more interesting by plating five runs in the bottom of the frame.

Zach Menard got the slugfest rolling when he crushed a homer over the right field wall to make it a 6-2 game. Later in the inning, Marek Lalonde smashed a grand slam to right field to tie the game at 6.

The Norsemen (24-16) earned their first lead of the game in the bottom of the fifth when Alex Descarreaux plated Lalonde. NEO increased its lead to 9-6 when Guillemette scored on a Santana ground out and Gram Mitchell plated Descarreaux with a single to center field.

Crowder inched close in the bottom of the sixth when Arnold plated Ward with a line drive single and took the lead back at 10-9 in the top of the seventh, courtesy of a Stratton three-run bomb that plated Hudson Hosman and Rylan Michel.

NEO tied the game at 10-10 in the bottom of the frame when Menard drove in Santana with a single to center field, but Crowder answered with a run in the top of the eighth when Hosman scored on a Morrison liner to center to give the Roughriders an 11-10 lead.

Raine Kreklewetz tied the game in the bottom of the eighth with a solo home run. Neither team could get a run across until the top of the 11th, when Stratton smashed a solo homer to right field — his second home run of the game.

NEO answered with a Descarreaux solo shot to left in the bottom of the inning to tie the game again at 12.

Crowder was able to secure the win when Will Beaudoin hit a three-run homer over the left field fence that plated Stalony and Arnold.

Morrison finished 3 for 5 with two runs and an RBI, Stratton was 3 for 4 with four RBIs and three runs, and Arnold went 3 for 6 with two RBIs and two runs.

Descarreaux finished 2 for 5 with two RBIs for NEO.

Crowder travels to St. Louis Community College for a doubleheader on Thursday.
