Male arrested after teen stabbed in Brampton; man wanted in 2 Greektown break-ins

Peel Regional Police say a male suspect was arrested after a Friday morning stabbing near a Brampton school sent a teen boy to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the “isolated incident” occurred around 8:25 a.m. in the area of McMurchy Ave. S. and Elgin Dr.
Brampton Centennial Secondary School was in lockdown while Bishop Francis Allen Catholic Elementary School was in a hold and secure after the suspect fled the scene, police said.
There was a large police presence in the area, and within a half hour of the stabbing the suspect had been arrested, cops said. The schools were opened up shortly after the arrest.
Cops said the investigation is ongoing.
BREAK AND ENTERS IN GREEKTOWN
Toronto cops are asking for the public’s help locating a man wanted for two break and enters in Greektown last week.
Police allege, on April 15 around 2:20 a.m., that the accused damaged the front door of an establishment in the Danforth and Logan Aves. area before entering and attempting to steal property.
It’s further alleged, on April 18, the accused arrived at a convenience store in the same area and used an object to break through the front door before ransacking the business and stealing property.

Peter Maroulis, 55, of Toronto, is wanted for two counts of break and enter and one count of breach of probation.
He is described as 5-foot-9 with a stocky build. At the time of the incidents, he was wearing a baseball hat and dark clothing.

PROWLING SUSPECT SOUGHT
Toronto Police are asking the public to help identify a suspect in a prowl-by-night investigation in Riverdale.
Police began the probe in the Broadview and Hogarth Aves. area after receiving a report that the suspect was observed prowling on private property on April 16 around 1:25 a.m.
Cops say the suspect was observed on security camera looking in several windows of a house.
An image has been released of the male suspect, who is described as approximately 30 years old with a medium build, long black hair tied into a bun, a black chinstrap beard/goatee and was wearing a baseball hat, light-coloured jacket and pants, and carrying a backpack.

VAUGHAN HOME SHOOTING
York Regional Police say a residence in Vaughan was shot at early Friday.
Police said the home, located in the Rutherford and Weston Rds. area, was targeted.
Officers responded to the sound of gunshots around 3:40 a.m. and confirmed at the scene that the residence had been shot at.
Suspects fled the area, police said, and there were no reported injuries.
There was no description of the suspects.
