"Allianz Arena is a fortress" – Bayern boss looks ahead to second leg against PSG after "magnificent match"

In the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie with Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich suffered a narrow 5-4 defeat at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday.

Speaking to Sky Germany after the game, FC Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl was full of admiration for the game he had just witnessed.

“That was a magnificent match. I have rarely experienced a game at this level,” Eberl said.

Eberl expressed pride in his team’s response after falling 5–2 behind. Despite the first-leg defeat, he stressed that he remains optimistic about Bayern’s chances of reaching the final in Budapest ahead of next week’s return leg at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

“Credit to our team. After the 5–2, the PSG players celebrated as if they were already in the Budapest final. We came back, and now everything is open in the second leg. The Allianz Arena is a fortress,” Eberl stressed.
