Georgia baseball NCAA Tournament projections entering LSU series

The No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs baseball team has a golden opportunity to win an SEC title with two weeks remaining in the regular season. Georgia holds a two 1/2-game lead atop the SEC standings.
Looking ahead, Georgia is expected to be a super regional host. If the Bulldogs can take care of business in their final two SEC series (vs. LSU and at Auburn), then Georgia should be a lock to host a super regional as a top-eight national seed.

The Bulldogs land as the No. 6 national seed in Aria Gerson's recent NCAA Tournament projections for The Tennessean. Georgia is a NCAA Tournament lock and would be projected to host the Athens Regional, which would include Missouri State, the No. 27 team in the projections, NC State and Penn.
If the Bulldogs won the Athens Regional, then Georgia would go on to host the Athens Super Regional, where UGA would be projected to host the No. 11 seed Florida Gators. The Gators already played Georgia this season with Florida winning two out of three games at Foley Field in Georgia's lone SEC series defeat of the season. Other potential opponents for Georgia in the super regional round include projected No. 10 seed Florida State and projected No. 12 seed Kansas.
Georgia is looking to return to the College Baseball World Series. Georgia has the offense to make a national championship run, but the Georgia pitching staff is still looking to match that level.
