Michigan State football's road trip to rival Notre Dame this upcoming season has been announced as a nationally televised game in primetime. The school announced on Thursday that kickoff for this matchup between the Spartans and Fighting Irish will be at 7:30 p.m. ET on September 19 and the game will be televised on NBC.

This will be the first time Michigan State has played at Notre Dame since 2016, which the Spartans pulled off the ranked win over the Fighting Irish. Notre Dame won the most recent meeting -- held at Spartan Stadium -- in 2017.

Michigan State opens the season against Toledo on September 5 and will play Eastern Michigan on September 12 the week prior to this battle against Notre Dame. The Spartans will be favored in both of those matchups and odds are they'll be 2-0 entering this big-time battle against the Fighting Irish.
