Before Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc even stepped on the race track at the Miami Grand Prix, he hosted a dinner to launch a 16-year-aged Chivas Regal whiskey that he created in collaboration with the brand. It's fitting for Formula 1, where drivers are just as much a part of the luxury experience as the racing itself.

"We organized a trip to Scotland with all of my childhood best friends," he said of creating the drink, which is a blend of 16 whiskies, a nod to his race number. "It was a very, very, fun weekend."
That's sort of how I felt leaving Miami after my first-ever Formula 1 race at Hard Rock Stadium. Seriously, where have I been?
The loud hum of the cars driving around the 3.7-mile race track, the unmistakable signs of luxury from spectators, and a lot of mansplaining — which I didn't mind this time — it was one of the best weekends I've had in a while.
For a first timer, the most memorable moments to me extended far beyond the track.
Initially, I had sticker shock when I walked into the merch tent. Jackets, sweaters, and other items cost upward of $200. Still, I was relieved to find stylish offerings for around $50, including T-shirts and hats that anyone back home would love.
And the heat. I mean, it is Miami, but — the heat. Unless you paid thousands of dollars for access to The Paddock Club or similarly shaded areas, you were left battling the relentless sunrays. In Miami, even shade felt like a luxury amenity.
