Stade de Reims set for managerial change

Following relegation to Ligue 2 last season, Stade de Reims’ objective this season was to return to Ligue 1. Karel Geraerts was the man brought in to achieve it last summer. However, he has fallen short. Not only did Les Stadistes miss out on automatic promotion, they didn’t even make the play-offs.

As a result, Geraerts and Reims are set to part ways, L’Équipe understands. His departure is set to be officialised soon, whilst a replacement has already been lined up. Olivier Dall’Oglio had been linked with the role, but it is Nicolas Usai who is set to be appointed, as per L’Équipe.
Usai, who left Pau by mutual consent back in January, is coveted. Teams towards the bottom of Ligue 1 are interested in the technician, whilst there are also clubs in Ligue 2 and in Belgium who are interested. However, Usai looks set to join Reims, with whom he may already have an agreement.
