Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 16 praised the Indian diaspora in the Netherlands and said that he felt the spirit of Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Assam among the Indian community during his address in The Hague. Visuals shoed loud cheers by people welcoming the Prime Minister, and chants "Modi, Modi," "Bharat Mata Ki Jai," and "Jai Shri Ram" echoed.

While addressing the Indian community in The Hague, he said, "As I was entering here, I could see the spirit of the entire Maharashtra and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, my beloved Rajasthan, and friends from UP and Assam among you all."

Praising the grand welcome from the Indian diaspora, he said, "Seeing so much love and enthusiasm, I forgot for a moment that I am in the Netherlands, and it felt like I was attending a festival in India."

The Prime Minister added that whenever he had conversations with the leadership of the Netherlands, they always praised the Indian diaspora, adding, "Every Indian is proud of your contribution to the society and economy of the Netherlands."

The Prime Minister described the atmosphere in The Hague as a living symbol of India-Netherlands friendship, saying that while passport, address, and time zone may change, the spirit of India remains constant wherever they live.

PM Modi To Meet King & Queen of the Netherlands

PM Modi further said that after interacting with the Indian diaspora, he would meet His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen of the Netherlands. He also added that he would hold detailed discussions on several issues with Prime Minister Dick Schoof.

Meanwhile, the PM is in the Netherlands till May 17. This marks his second visit to the country, with his previous visit taking place in 2017. The current visit comes at an important juncture in India-Netherlands bilateral relations and is expected to further strengthen strategic cooperation between the two nations.

PM Modi arrived in the Netherlands on Friday evening as part of his multi-nation diplomatic tour to enhance India's strategic, economic, and technological partnerships across Europe.
