Pueblo golfers finish in top 10 at CHSAA State championships

On Monday and Tuesday, May 18-19, the 2026 CHSAA State girls' Golf Tournament teed off with golfers from across the state battling to see who could earn the top spot.
Pueblo had several teams and individual golfers competing at state for a chance at the state title. Here is a quick recap of all the action.

We start with Class 2A with Rye High School. The 2026 Girls Golf State Championships for Class 2A were played at the Lone Tree Country Club.
The Thunderbolts sent four golfers in total, and as a team they finished fourth overall in the state with a combined score of 557, just 24 points off third place.
Sophomore Glorianna Ruiz finished in tenth place overall with a two-day combined score of 166 (+22). Olivia Donlon, senior, finished in 18th place with a score of 184; Reese Simpson finished with a score of 208; and Hannah Davis scored 221.
The Class 3A championship was played at the Foothills Golf Course in Denver. The Pueblo County Hornets finished 14th overall as a team with a score of 615.
For the individuals, Pueblo Central’s Aislinn Van Duyn finished in 32nd place, along with Pueblo South’s Rya Nardini, with a score of 191.
Pueblo County’s Ashlyn Ortiz scored 198, Maddy Mandarich 201, Avery Mead 222, and Rhylie Jubic 222. Other Pueblo golfers included were Kaityln Divelbiss, who scored a 212, and Pueblo East’s Simona Rowell, who scored 227.
And finally, the Class 4A tournament was played at The Bridges Golf and Country Club in Montrose. Pueblo West’s team finished in fourth place overall with a score of 523.
Senior Gabi Benfatti finished in seventh place overall with a score of 176. Clarye Wagner and Scotlyn Gamble finished in a three-way tie for ninth place with a 177 score. To round out the Cyclones team, Addie Hunter scored 187.
