The 2027 NFL Draft is littered with standout prospects on both sides of the ball. This class is being touted as one of the best in recent memory, and for good reason. One of the stronger position groups in the class is cornerback, and in this one, we will be taking a deep dive into Alabama's Zabien Brown.
What does his summer scouting report look like? Let's talk about it.

The backpedal and hips of Zabien Brown are near-elite. When he flips his hips and puts his foot in the ground to break on a route, he gets there in a hurry with strong downhill speed. Alabama's top boundary corner last season, rarely relying on safety help over the top, and held his own. He locked down Cam Coleman whenever they matched up. Brown is as sure a tackler as there is at cornerback in this class, reminding me of a box safety or an inside linebacker. Keeps his eyes up and in the backfield, reading the quarterback's motions well. Two massive pick-sixes this season, including a 99-yard return against Tennessee.
Flexibility in terms of position is becoming increasingly important, and in Brown's case, his lack of reps anywhere but outside could be a knock against him. It will be curious to see if he does get snaps this season as a nickel corner, or boundary still. Brown struggles in zone coverage, not having a natural feel for his assignment, and at times loses his man inside his zone as he leans to look in the backfield, as mentioned.
