Texas A&M's transfer portal class ranked sixth highest among SEC teams

· Yahoo Sports

Texas A&M's 2026 roster is complete, barring any last-minute additions after landing 17 transfer portal additions combined with 26 signees from the 2026 recruiting class, who all but one incoming freshman took part in the spring season earlier this year. With the new roster set, third-year coach Mike Elko and his revamped coaching staff enter the next two months with a clearer sense of how much work lies ahead.

Nationally, Texas A&M's 2026 transfer portal haul could be considered underrated compared to LSU, Ole Miss, and the Texas Longhorns, who all added multiple "big name" players. The Aggies filled several needs and did not skimp on landing future starters with NFL potential. Sticking out more than most, former Alabama wide receiver Isaiah Horton provides more size at 6'4", while North Carolina transfer DL CJ Mims will likely start at nose tackle, and help the Aggie run defense.

In the secondary, Tennessee transfer cornerback Rickey Gibson and Colorado transfer safety Tawfiq Byard are considered two of the best players at their respective positions, and will compete for starting jobs, while looking like perfect fits in Mike Elko's secondary. Overall, nearly every one of the Aggies' 17 additions is expected to make an impact next season.

On Thursday, 247Sports released its final transfer portal class rankings, placing the Aggies at No. 12 (branding) and making them the sixth-highest-ranked SEC program. Here is where the rest of the SEC ranks in the final top 25.
