Who Is Marine Dursus? Know More About Geno Auriemma’s New UConn Star

UConn Huskies coach Geno Auriemma has gotten the commitment of French professional player Marine Dursus, who will play for the Storrs school next season. Dursus spent three seasons playing for Angers Basket (UFAB 49) in La Boulangère Wonderligue, France’s top-tier women’s basketball division.
Auriemma spoke this Friday about the commitment via a statement, expressing his happiness about the recruitment achievement:

“It’s exciting to find players who naturally are blessed with the ability to score,” Geno Auriemma said in a release. “I think Marine’s greatest assets are she plays exceptionally hard, she’s competitive and she’s used to playing at a high level. She gives us another scorer, which fills a need for us. We’re thrilled that we could add her to our roster.”
Marine Dursus has also played extensively for the French national team, winning a gold medal at the 2024 FIBA U20 EuroBasket tournament, where she earned All-Tournament honors. Previously, she won a silver medal at the 2023 U18 European Championship.
She was also part of the French teams for the 2022 U17 World Cup team and the 2021 U16 European Challengers team. With Angers Basket, she averaged 9.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game.
Marine Dursus’ announcement of her commitment to Geno Auriemma’s UConn Huskies
Marine Dursus made her decision to join Geno Auriemma and the UConn Huskies at Storrs public this Friday morning. She did it through her Instagram account, on a post that shows her in different Huskies apparel.
In the caption of the post, she wrote the following:
“Taking the next step… see you soon UConn #uconnwbb #huskies #committed,”
The Huskies made the official announcement on their own later on Friday, by adding her to the team’s roster on the school’s website, and they also made an Instagram publication of their own. Their captionread:
“Marine Dursus is a Husky! Welcome to the Basketball Capital of the World 💙,”
This is the second big player recruited by the UConn Huskies for the 2026-27 season, with Geno Auriemma having previously gotten the commitment of another international player, Croatia’s Olivia Vukosa.
Vukosa, a five-star recruit, is the fourth best rated player in the class of 2026, and the top center in the nation and top overall player out of the state of New York, where she plays high school ball.
