Usain Bolt Drops One-Word Reply After Fred Kerley Claims He’ll ‘Destroy’ 100m World Record Clean at Enhanced Games
· Yahoo Sports
Fred Kerley recently shared bold claims of shattering the 100m world record at the inaugural Enhanced Games 2026. His statements drew the attention of Usain Bolt, who dropped a one-word reply to the American’s claims.
Kerley was last seen in action on the track at the 2024 Diamond League Finals on September 14 in Brussels. Here, he ran in the 100m dash and claimed a third-place finish after clocking 10.01 seconds and also finished fifth in the 200m dash. Currently, the American is serving a two-year ban from traditional track and field which will come to an end on August 11, 2027.

He fell into this situation due to a whereabouts failure within a 12-month window between May 11 and December 6, 2024. His suspension began in August 2025, and he also had to pay World Athletics £3,000 in legal expenses. Amid his ongoing ban, he is now scheduled to compete at the Enhanced Games and recently shared a bold statement about the 100m world record being shattered.
“It’s going to be destroyed,” said Fred Kerley at the Enhanced Games press conference.
His statement garnered the attention of the current 100m world record holder, Bolt, who recorded 9.58 seconds at the 2009 World Athletics Championships in Germany. Responding to Kerley’s statement with a one-word comment, he wrote:
“Ok.”
The Enhanced Games is a new sports competition where the athletes are allowed to take performance-enhancing drugs that are marked illegal in traditional competitions. However, Kerley recently revealed that he would not take drugs at the tournament.
When Fred Kerley expressed his frustration over his two-year ban
After being handed a two-year ban for his whereabouts failures, Fred Kerley received a notice from AIU, ordering him to contribute $3000 for the costs related to the case with World Athletics. Receiving this penalty along with the disciplinary actions that were taken against him did not sit right with Kerley, and he expressed strong frustration on social media.
Taking to X, he shared bold comments against AIU, writing:
“The AIU runs a case on me, then orders me to pay $3000 to World Athletics… So the same system that prosecutes the case thinks I should also pay their legal costs? Athletes already fund this sport with our performances, our likeness, and our labor. Now we’re supposed to finance the legal system used against us too?” wrote Fred Kerley.
He added:
“And let’s be real… if athletes weren’t constantly getting targeted with whereabouts violations and cases, how would this whole system even fund itself? Meanwhile this is the same organization where an audit found over $1.5 million stolen internally by staff. Millions can go missing inside the system… but the athlete is the one being told to pay the bill.”
After the Enhanced Games were announced in 2025, Fred Kerley stated that he was looking forward to starting a new chapter and compete at the Enhanced Games.
