Rams to make NFL history with Myles Garrett and Matthew Stafford on same team

During the NFL Honors this past February, Sean McVay, Matthew Stafford, and Myles Garrett were all in the same room. Stafford would win MVP after leading the NFL in passing yards and touchdowns, while Garrett won Defensive Player of the Year after breaking the NFL's single-season sack record.

During the evening, the Los Angeles Rams had a bit of nervousness as Stafford's future remained in doubt. Stafford, who missed training camp and preseason with a back issue, had yet to commit to playing in 2026.

Four months later, all three men will be on the same squad.

Stafford announced his intentions to play during his speech, and on Monday, Garrett was traded to the Rams, making it the first time the reigning MVP and Defensive Player of the Year have played on the same team.

Garrett is now added to a defensive line that features Pro Bowler Byron Young and stout attackers in Kobie Turner, Poona Ford, and Braden Fiske. The Rams already had a terrific defensive front, but with Garrett in the mix now, it's arguably the best in football.
