One person was killed and several others were injured after Iranian drones and missiles attacked Kuwait early Wednesday.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attacks targeted “civilian and vital facilities,” including Kuwait International Airport. It caused “damage to vital facilities, including diplomatic missions,” the ministry added.
The U.S. military said it launched “self-defence” strikes on Iran overnight, while shooting down ballistic missiles and drones fired at ships and Gulf countries. U.S. Central Command said Iran also fired two missiles at Kuwait and three at Bahrain, all of which were intercepted.

6 killed by Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon
At least six people were killed in Israeli strikes near Tyre, a city in southern Lebanon, the country’s state-run news agency reported.
The Israeli military has repeatedly targeted the city and surrounding area after launching a renewed attack last week against Hezbollah, the New York Times reported.
Trump ‘perturbed’ with Netanyahu over Lebanon
U.S. President Donald Trump admitted in an interview with the “Pod Force One” podcast that he had a harsh exchange with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over Lebanon, Reuters reported.
“I wouldn’t say angry. I was a little bit perturbed at his constantly fighting with Lebanon, you know,” Trump said, noting he and Netanyahu get along really well.
“We’ve worked very well together. I like Bibi a lot. And I work very well with him,” he said.
“I’m a wartime president,” Trump said. “He’s a wartime prime minister.”
U.S. launches ‘self-defence’ strikes on Iran
U.S. Central Command said it launched what it called “self-defence” strikes overnight in Iran, shooting down ballistic missiles and drones fired at ships and Middle Eastern countries.
The strikes on Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz were “in response to attempted attacks by Iran across the Middle East,” Centcom said, per BBC News .
Centcom said Iran had fired two missiles at Kuwait and three at Bahrain, all of which broke apart or were intercepted.
Earlier, Iran said it had attacked American bases and helicopters in a “regional country” using missiles and drones in retaliation.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said: “disrupting the security of the Strait of Hormuz will carry a heavy price for the aggressive U.S. military.”
Iran’s foreign ministry said in a statement that leaders of Kuwait and Bahrain had “direct and unmistakable responsibility” for “last night’s acts of aggression,” as it condemned the U.S .for the strikes.
Iran has repeatedly targeted Bahrain and Kuwait, where U.S .military bases are located.

The ministry said the military attack hit several civilian and vital facilities, including Kuwait International Airport, causing damage to “vital facilities, including diplomatic missions,” per ABC News .
The ministry denounced Iran’s attacks, stating it caused “increased escalation, heightened tension, and undermine the security and stability of the region.”
The country’s General Authority of Civil Aviation said that Kuwait Airways flights will resume operations from the airport on Wednesday.
