Kansas State football beats Texas, OU for touted edge rusher

MANHATTAN — Kansas State football continued its recruiting momentum for the 2027 class by landing one of the country's top available edge rushers.

Sedrick Marsh Jr., listed at 6-foot-5, 230 pounds, announced his commitment to the Wildcats via social media on Wednesday, June 10.

From Waxahachie, Texas, Marsh is a three-star prospect, ranked as the No. 43 edge rusher, according to the 247Sports Composite. He picked the Wildcats over schools like SMU, Oklahoma State, Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Baylor and others.

Marsh was on campus this past weekend as a part of the most recent batch of official visits. Kansas State first offered him in November when the program was led by Chris Klieman.

Marsh marks the first true edge rusher commit for Collin Klein's 2027 class, but that doesn't make him any less significant. Considered one of the best defensive ends in Texas, he finished last season with 32 tackles, with five for a loss and a pair of sacks.
