Victor Wembanyama addresses being egged by Knicks fan
· Yahoo Sports
After the New York Knicks’ historic comeback win in Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday night, we saw another example of Knicks fans behaving badly after they showed up to the San Antonio Spurs’ hotel and threw eggs at Victor Wembanyama.
The incident was caught on video and the Spurs center was hit with an egg in the head as he entered the building after New York’s 107-106 victory.

Wembanyama had media availability on Friday, which is just one day before Game 5, and he handled the situation with grace.
“I didn’t really think much of it. I just saw that one video of the eggs. I didn’t see any other one. It’s OK. I don’t dislike it. Obviously it’s not good at all. But it doesn’t bother me,” Wembanyama said, according to Tom Osborn of the San Antonio Express-News.
It goes without saying this kind of behavior from Knicks fans is completely unacceptable, no matter how much of a villain Wemby is in their eyes.
It’s one thing to show up to the team hotel and talk trash, but Knicks fans completely crossed the line by throwing things.

Unfortunately, that’s not the first time Knicks fans have crossed the line during the NBA Finals.
More bad behavior from Knicks fans
This was just the latest example of a bad look for Knicks fans during the NBA Finals.
Following the Game 3 loss to the Spurs, Knicks fans were seen attacking Spurs fans in the street, which led to players on both teams denouncing the inexcusable actions.
“Being a Knick fan doesn’t mean being disrespectful to Spurs fans in any way,” Ben Stiller said. “We get caught up during the games but we gotta show respect to our fellow humans.”
“I didn’t know that. My thoughts, of course, is that, I mean, we can’t forget it’s a game. We’re just playing a game out there. And I am all for passion, but to the respect of each other. It’s unacceptable,” Wembanyama said.
“The game is built off of respect and passion,” Karl-Anthony Towns said. “We want everyone to respect each other. We want everyone to enjoy basketball at its purest state. It’s the NBA Finals. There’s no better place to watch basketball. Leave the physicality to everyone on the court.”
Of course, the vast majority of Knicks fans do not subscribe to this kind of behavior, but the bad actions of a few can often ruin it for many.

Going into the series with the Spurs, Knicks fans were viewed as sentimental figures because of all the struggles the franchise has had amid a 53-year championship drought.
It’s safe to say the view of Knicks fans has soured since then.
