Turkish OnlyFans stars face decade in prison over obscenity charges

So far, the Islamic Eurasian nation has arrested 27 sexxx-rated content providers still using the platform, which is now banned over alleged obscene content.
According to U.K’s The Sun , the case is being heard in Istanbul and follows a wide-ranging cybercrime probe launched months ago. Prosecutors are claiming the accused made bank by sharing their raunchy content on OnlyFans and other subscription-based platforms.
Turkey torpedoed OnlyFans in 2023 by blocking the platform. However, the morality police say porn enthusiasts have still been able to access the racy content by “scrambling their IP addresses.”
Among the stars under fire are models Gizem Bagdacicek, Merve Taskin and Burcin Erol.
Bitter cultural war
Turkey is locked in a bitter cultural war between the country’s dour, conservative political establishment and more liberal elements of the society. While Istanbul remains a freewheeling, Western city, in eastern and central regions of the country, the outlook is more conservative and religious.
Porn has become a ticking time bomb in the battle.
It was money more than anything that triggered the investigation, the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor’s Office has said. Some of the influencers using the platform were still making large amounts of money in spite of the ban.
State agents reportedly scoured bank accounts, money transfers and company records that were linked to the 27 models. Authorities detained 17 models, while detention orders were issued for 25 in total.
Seized $10M in cash
Some of those named in the probe were allegedly outside Turkey at the time of the raids and arrests. Others were already in custody for different investigations.
Turkish officials’ next step was the seizure of cash, vehicles, properties and company accounts. The haul was reportedly worth millions. So far nearly $10 million in cash has been seized.
The indictment is now seeking prison sentences of up to 10 years for each of the defendants. Turkish media said because the indictment has been accepted, those charged are now expected to appear in court.
When the trial opens, the defendants will be allowed to make their legal arguments. Authorities say the invetigation continues.
The crackdown comes on the heels of arrests in Bellevue, Washington at the so-called “OnlyFans House” located on a quiet cul de sac.
According to cops, a slew of young women and girls have come forward claiming they were kept prisoner and forced to stream sexxx-rated content 12 hours a day. Cops say the shocking human trafficking probe started with noise complaints at the party house.
More charges for accused pimp?
But investigators now say that for years, the women were forced by violent means to perform on OnlyFans and Chaturbate. Investigators say the digital pimp is Nikita Tyukalo, 22, who is charged with human trafficking.
Police expect to lay more charges.
According to court documents, one alleged victim said she was 17 in April 2024 when she was contacted by Tyukalo – who has a police record for domestic violence. The former teen hoops star told the girl he could help her make money.
Tyukalo’s promises were empty vessels, the women say, adding they were ripped off for hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The mansion where Tyukalo operated became known as the OnlyFans House, as much for what went on inside as its boisterous parties where 100 guests would drink, raise hell and play loud music.
That investigation is also continuing.
