Caroline Weir signs for OL Lyonnes

Scotland captain Caroline Weir has signed for OL Lyonnes on a three-year deal.

The former Liverpool and Manchester City player joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2022. She spent four seasons in the Spanish capital, playing 125 games in total, scoring 63 goals, and making 38 assists before leaving in the summer.
Indeed, Weir proved to be a superb signing for Real Madrid, twice being named the club's Player of the Year.
Now the 30-year-old midfielder has moved from Spain to France to join champions OL Lyonnes until 2029.
"The club is delighted with this new signing, who will strengthen Lyon's midfield with her clinical finishing and top-level experience," the French side said in a statement.
