Steelers current No. 89 wearer: WR Joaquin Davis

One of the newest additions to the Steelers' 2026 roster, Davis is the current No. 89 wearer in Pittsburgh. Beginning his career as an undrafted free agent with the Minnesota Vikings, Davis has yet to make his NFL debut but possesses rare speed for his massive 6-foot-4 frame.

Last five Steelers to wear No. 89

  • Joaquin Davis, 2026-present
  • Donald Parham, 2025
  • Brandon Johnson, 2024
  • Gunner Olszewski, 2022-2023
  • Vance McDonald, 2017-2020

Best No. 89 in Steelers history: TE Bennie Cunningham

No. 89 doesn't have the storied history of other numbers previously on the countdown to kickoff, but the greatest wearer is arguably Bennie Cunningham.

Selected by the Steelers with the 28th overall pick in the first round of the 1976 NFL Draft, Cunningham went on to appear in 118 games and make 80 starts during his 10-year career with Pittsburgh.

Cunningham recorded 2,879 yards and 20 touchdowns from 1976-1985, winning two Super Bowls with the Steelers and cementing his place as the best No. 89 wearer in franchise history.
