NEW YORK – Tonight, the Yankees have a chance to sweep a series for the seventh time this year.
It’ll be a bullpen game for the White Sox on Thursday at Yankee Stadium, starting with lefty Bryan Hudson. The Yanks’ lefty Ryan Weathers is going on one extra day of rest.

“I love what I’m seeing with these guys,’’ Yanks manager Aaron Boone said of his team’s “singular focus every day.’’ But there’s “such a long way to go,’’ with the inevitable challenges ahead.
Some of those are on the injury front, but the Yankees could be getting catcher Austin Wells (cervical headaches) back as early as this weekend against the Cincinnati Reds.
In his second minor league rehab game, Wells hit two home runs today and “we want to keep building on that,’’ said Boone, adding that the club was leaning toward having the lefty-hitting catcher play a third rehab game Friday.
However, no decision had been made about Wells’ status as of Thursday afternoon.
Earlier this week at Triple-A Scranton, top Yankees prospect, shortstop George Lombard Jr., strained two fingers on his left hand during a defensive play.
