The Race started in Springfield, Illinois and will come to end in Pasadena California, going through check points like the one in Joplin today. Locally born contestant and navigator for the “Darrell Hedrick Team” says the race is more than just about winning, it’s about friendship.
“It’s like an eight-day rolling family reunion because of the friendships that you develop with some of the other competitors because you’re not competing with them. It’s like I mentioned, it’s like golf against the course,” said TDH Motorsports Navigator Darrell Hedrick.
Hedrick says his team also mentored some of the younger drivers in the race.
