Manny Marin committed to the Razorbacks on Tuesday, June 30. He just wrapped up his sophomore season with the Volunteers. He served as the everyday shortstop after primarily playing third base as a freshman in 2025.
Marin follows in the footsteps of former Tennessee pitcher Brayden Krenzel, who also committed to Arkansas out of the transfer portal on June 13.
This past spring, Marin slashed .291/.338/.485 with nine homers, 35 runs and 43 RBIs. He only drew 12 walks and struck out 40 times.
Marin is an elite defender. He had a .976 fielding percentage in 2026 while playing the premier infield position. He should compete to be Arkansas' starting shortstop next year.
He is the second shortstop the Razorbacks have acquired through the transfer portal this offseason, joining Santa Clara's Ben Cleary. Unlike Marin, Cleary is a draft-eligible this summer and could sign a professional contract in a few weeks.
