4 Bengals with something serious to prove at training camp

As a team, the Cincinnati Bengals have something to prove in 2026.

Joe Burrow and the Bengals want to show they can stay healthy and be true contenders. The front office hopes its all-in ways show up on the field when it matters most, too.

At training camp, though, a few players hit the heat waves of summer hoping to gain serious momentum going into the season while proving doubters wrong.

Here are a few Bengals players with the most to prove at training camp.

Bengals players under pressure at training camp

WR Andrei Iosivas

It’s now-or-never time for Andrei Iosivas. No doubt he’s heard the noise coming off a season in which he caught just 33 passes for 435 yards and two scores over 17 games. The Bengals expect more from third wideouts behind Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, even if they share snaps with running backs and tight ends.

Iosivas has Charlie Jones, rookie Colbie Young, Mitch Tinsley and a host of others fighting for chances behind him, so this is the summer to eliminate any doubt about what he can do.

DE Myles Murphy

Myles Murphy flashed a little bit down the stretch last year. But some would argue it took far too long for his first-round status to show up. Now, he’s got one more chance to prove he can be a long-term solution, even after the Bengals turned down his fifth-year option.

But chances aren’t guaranteed. There’s Shemar Stewart, Boye Mafe and Cashius Howell vying for snaps, too. Murphy will need to be an every-down presence at all times to keep a dominant snap-share.

DE Shemar Stewart

Shemar Stewart had the contract drama and multiple injury issues derail his rookie year. Like Murphy, now he has to prove that he can be a contributor at the next level. It’s even more important for him because he was viewed as a bit of a project coming out of college.

If nothing else, Stewart doesn't have draft prep or contract worries this summer, so he’s been able to just focus on the knowledge gained about the system and pros last year. Now, it’s time for it to show up on the field.

S Jordan Battle

The Bengals coaching staff is all-in on Jordan Battle at safety. They replaced the starter next to him with Bryan Cook, then went out and got versatile depth with veteran Kyle Dugger.

For Battle, it’s a chance to show he was still learning the ropes last year and dealing with some poor surroundings that held him back. Coaches have given him a massive benefit of the doubt and he’s got a contract extension perhaps at stake, too, so few Bengals have more to prove right from the start of training camp.
