· Yahoo Sports

Chicago Blackhawks superstar Connor Bedard has been spending his summer training in Canada. Every day, he works on his speed and strength in preparation for the following season.

This dedication made a noticeable difference in Bedard's game during the 2025-26 season, and now he is aiming to take another step in 2026-27.

There is a bit of a fork in the road this time, however, as Bedard appears to have hurt his shoulder during a summer skating session on Thursday.

This injury was first reported by Ryan McGregor of Blackhawks Conversation and  Blackhawk Up! of the FanSided network.

This appears to be a non-contact fall for Bedard, who came up holding his shoulder in a similar way to how he did when he hurt it against the St. Louis Blues back in December. That caused him to miss over a month's worth of games.

At this point, there is no report on the extent of Bedard's injury or how long he may be away from the ice. This is not what the Blackhawks wanted to see for their young superstar early in his summer preparation for the new season, but there will be plenty of time to recover if necessary.
