WIMBLEDON β Felix Auger-Aliassime was involved in the "best point" of his career as he punched his ticket to a Wimbledon quarterfinal clash with Novak Djokovic.
The Canadian recorded a 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (8-6), 6-3, 6-7 (2-7), 6-1 victory in four hours and 26 minutes against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
In a thrilling match of drama the pair also played out an insane rally β which the No.3 seed ended up losing β but he was still beaming with a smile and happy to be involved in a point that left the entire court on its feet.
"It was insane. Best point I've ever played, just 'cause that live reaction from the crowd. Now I can talk about it. When you have the full roar of the crowd, the full crowd up on their feet while the point is playing on, it shook me, like, middle of the point," Auger-Aliassime said.

"I'm running to the ball. I was kind of like, yes, smiling to myself. I was, like, thinking I have to make it, but I missed. It's still funny. Obviously the situation of the match, it wasn't, let's say, the most important point, so to speak.
"But, yeah, it was the best point I've been a part of for sure in my career."
The No.3 seed, who had won just one match at Wimbledon since a run to the quarterfinals in 2021 prior to this yearβs Championships, now comes up against seven-time SW19 champion Djokovic.
"Look, it's simple, I need to play my best. There's no going through if I don't play my best. The game plan is quite simple. Yeah, I hope that I can show that I've improved as a player," he said.
"It's a big opportunity. It's a big honor for me to play this match. Playing here is, yeah, it's one of those matches that you want to have and that you train for and prepare for.
"I can only say good things about Novak because, again, now that I'm a tennis player - I think as a kid I didn't appreciate it as much - but now that I'm a player, the load of work he's done over the years, I mean, I'm not even near any of that. Just to think about it, it's crazy. You get dizzy just to think about it. Huge respect to him.
"I have to say, he's been very generous with his time. I've reached out to him at times to ask him questions, pick his brain. I love to listen and to learn from older players, generations. He's been very generous with his time, as well.
"Huge respect to that, not only as a player, but as a person."
