Merab Dvalishvili gets into scuffle with Umar Nurmagomedov fans at RAF Georgia

Real American Freestyle can’t seem to go more than an event or two without a wild brawl breaking out, usually involving UFC fighters.

RAF Georgia is set to go down tomorrow (Sat, Jul. 11th, 2026) in Tbilisi, Georgia and is headlined by former UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili wrestling former UFC flyweight and bantamweight champ Henry Cejudo. But things got wild during the pre-fight press conference when friends of Umar Nurmagomedov confronted Dvalishvili about various things he’s said about Nurmagomedov.

Dvalishvili and Nurmagomedov fought back in January 2025 with Dvalishvili taking a 48–47, 48–47, 49–46 decision. Nurmagomedov fans have since argued that a badly broken hand stopped Umar from schooling Merab. There’s been much talk of a rematch from Nurmagomedov. Dvalishvili? Not interested, at least not while he has an immediate rematch with champ Petr Yan in the works.

When asked if he’d wrestle Umar in RAF at the pre-fight press conference, Merab didn’t mince words.

“No, never, f–k that guy,” Dvalishvili said. “Whoever RAF choose, I’ll fight. Except this spoiled guy.”

Some of Nurmagomedov teammates and fans got upset about that, and that anger boiled over with a scuffle breaking out.

Dvalishvili has always said that Umar Nurmagomedov has coasted on his last name and never deserved a fight with him to begin with. He’s even less inclined to fight Umar again, which has led to an increasingly intense rivalry to grow between the two and those around them. Ironically, it’s only made everyone want to see a second fight more.
