Championships are not decided on paper. Squads that end up winning the NBA championship take years to develop their games individually while also developing ample chemistry to make things work on the court. Trae Young knows this fact too well. This is why he is taking a big step to shift their culture alongside AJ Dybantsa, Anthony Davis, and the rest of the Washington Wizards roster.

Young unveils Wizards chemistry plan to win 2027 NBA championship

The Wizards are probably one of the most loaded dark horse contenders that no other NBA teams expect. They have the veteran acumen mixed with youthful athleticism that could very well help them contend for the Larry O'Brien Trophy.

What do they lack? Trae Young posits that the Wizards need to have a bit more chemistry if they wish to win the 2027 NBA championship or even become a dynasty in the long term, via Josh Robbins of The Athletic.

"I think this is just a part of the beginning of trying to turn a new chapter. You’ve got to build that chemistry on and off the court. I’ve been on other teams, and we haven’t had this many people in Vegas for summer league at once. It’s just great to see all the older guys here supporting the younger guys. That’s what it’s here for, and that’s what we’ve got to be here to do," the Wizards' star guard declared.

True enough, Young and the Wizards veterans like Anthony Davis have made tangible steps to fulfill this goal. All 12 of their players - Young, Davis, Cam Whitmore, Khris Middleton, Alex Sarr, Tristan Vukcevic, Bilal Coulibaly, Justin Champagnie. Deandre Ayton, Bub Carrington, Kyshawn George, and Khris Middleton - are headed to watch AJ Dybantsa in Las Vegas for the NBA Summer League.

The Wizards all practice together before Dybantsa goes to the tournament games. This way, Young and Davis can support the growth of their young talents while staying hands-on. This is not a sight commonly seen in the NBA.

If the Wizards are able to continually build on this culture à la the Gregg Popovich San Antonio Spurs, they could very well end up winning the NBA championship and laying the foundation for a dynasty.
