Forward Cain seals Everton return

Forward Hannah Cain has re-joined Everton on a free transfer.
The Toffees announced the news via a post on their official club website earlier today.

The 27-year-old returns to Merseyside for a second spell after she previously turned out for Everton between 2018 and 2020. The move comes after Cain left former club Leicester City last month following the conclusion of her contract at The King Power Stadium.
Cain initially joined Everton from Sheffield FC in summer 2018. She quickly established herself as a regular in the side before moving to Leicester City in suumer 2020 where she stayed for six years.
On the international stage, Cain has been capped by Wales on 28 occasions in which she has scored 11 goals.
After sealing her Everton return, Cain said “I am over the moon to be back. Goodison is such an amazing place and it is nice to finally be in it as a home team player. I am really excited to be a part of it.
“I signed my first professional contract at Everton, so it is a full-circle moment for me, which is really nice. Coming back here, it feels like it is home for me.
“Having Goodison as our home shows how far the game has come. When I first signed my first deal, we played out of the city but now we have got this amazing place with so much history. When I played here at the end of last season, there was a lot of fans and the atmosphere was incredible, so I am really excited to be a part of it.”
Cain is Everton’s second signing of the summer transfer window.
