Biggest Patriots fantasy bargain, bust, and wild card based on ADP

Prior to the release of ADPs four months ago, I discussed the Patriots’ biggest fantasy bargain, bust, and wild card. Where do things stand as we approach the first preseason games?

There are few fantasy running backs I’m more excited about than TreVeyon Henderson, whose stubbornly low RB23 ADP ignores the signs that point to a breakout season. Rhamondre Stevenson is somehow close behind at RB30. Stevenson’s fumbling woes and injury history make him no match for the ascending Henderson, whose workload should jump significantly in Year 2.

This franchise made a huge splash by acquiring A.J. Brown, who was the WR8 in fantasy points per game in 2022 and 2023, back when he was in his prime. In 2024, he posted WR13 numbers while missing four games. Then last year, he came on strong beginning on Thanksgiving, resulting in WR11 fantasy production.

His WR8 ADP assumes he’ll hit his realistic ceiling at 29 years old. I always recommend fading players whose ADPs reflect their ceilings. Brown is more likely to finish outside the top 16 than inside the top 12.

As for the biggest wild card, Romeo Doubs could be a bargain or bust at his WR51 ADP, which assumes he’ll serve as a distant #2 WR behind Brown. That might work out as the market expects. Or former sixth-rounders Kayshon Boutte or DeMario Douglas could push for the #2 role. Essentially, it’s Doubs’ job to lose, which bodes well for his upside. But he’s not guaranteed the role, which bodes poorly for his downside.
