NFPB's cowboys ride into Redwood Falls and Sacred Heart

Jul. 20—REDWOOD FALLS/SACRED HEART — The National Federation of Professional Bullriders' 2026 bullriding circuit returned to west central Minnesota Friday, June 17, at the Redwood County Fair and Saturday, July 18, at Sacred Heart's Summerfest. While the bullrider fans sat under a hot sun both nights, the bulls provided the majority of the action, as only a few cowboys completed bull rides for official scores during the preliminary and championship rounds.

In Redwood Falls, Tucker Mertens of Veblen, South Dakota, and Dalton Wells of Nimrod, Minnesota, were the only two bull riders to complete two rides at the Redwood Falls bull ride.
Mertens had the top score of 83 in the preliminary round and scored an 82.5 in the final round. His two-ride score of 165.5 points was the top combined score for the night, winning him a "Great Frontier Wicked Good" belt buckle and a $1,662 check.
Wells had the top individual score of the night with an 83.5 in the final round. Combined with his preliminary round's 76, he scored a combined 159.5 points to take second for the night and a $1,240 check.

The Redwood County Fair and the Jaycees Summerfest bull rides were produced by the Great Frontier Bull Riding Company of Maynard and the bulls provided by Meech Bucking Bulls Ranch of Nimrod.
