This name will likely sound very familiar in Dallas.
The Mavericks are signing Jett Howard to a two-way contract, they announced on Monday.
Jett is the son of Juwan Howard, an NBA champion and All Star who had two separate stints in his career with the Mavs.
Juwan played for Dallas from 2000 through 2002, and then in 2007-08.
It was part of an NBA career that also took Juwan to Washington, Houston, Denver, Miami, Orlando, Portland and Charlotte.
His son, Jett, followed in his footsteps by playing for the Michigan Wolverines.

From there, Jett was the No. 11 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic.
So far, all of Jett's NBA action has come in a Magic uniform over the past three seasons.
Through 133 NBA games, he has averaged 11.0 minutes per night, giving him a chance to average 4.5 points and 1.2 rebounds per game.
The 6-foot-8 Jett Howard has shot just 32.6% from 3-point range, which could hold him back.
The good news on the shooting front is that Jett shot 37.2% from 3 in the 2025-26 season while putting up career-highs with 5.5 points, 1.6 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game.
If that improved shooting is for real, it'll give him a chance to be useful in Dallas on his two-way deal.
The pedigree is certainly impressive, and now it's up to Jett to continue making his own name for himself.
