The 2026 LIV Golf season still has four events on its schedule — in the United Kingdom, New York, Indianapolis, and the season finale Team Championship in Michigan. However, that final event could be in jeopardy.

From captain of the Cleeks Golf Club, Martin Kaymer, believing it is highly unlikely the finale will happen as scheduled, to CEO Scott O’Neil refusing to guarantee that the final four tournaments of LIV's season will be played, to Jon Rahm refusing to commit to a future with LIV Golf, there was plenty of reason for skepticism surrounding the end of the 2026 season.
With the future of LIV Golf in question throughout this year, more recent news has failed to quell fans' skepticism about the league in general. Here's what we know.
When are the final four LIV Golf events supposed to happen?
The final four events of the LIV season are listed online as follows:
- July 23-26: JCB Golf & Country Club, United Kingdom
- Aug. 6-9: Trump National Golf Club, Bedminster, New York
- Aug. 20-23: The Club at Chatham Hills, Indianapolis
- Aug. 27-30: Team Championship at The Club at Chatham Hills, Michigan
Martin Kaymer's skepticism
After attending a captain's meeting on Tuesday, former World No. 1 Kaymer told "Today's Golfer" that he believes there is a "5% chance" that the Team Championship in Michigan happens as scheduled. Kaymer added that he heard that the event in Indianapolis, scheduled for Aug. 20-23, could end up becoming a team event instead.
"Of course, we are disappointed," said Kaymer. "I heard yesterday, actually, on the Golf Channel, that there were talks that Indianapolis could become a team event instead of Michigan. That we don’t know. I think that would be a shame that we get reduced even more individual tournaments."
While this seemingly also puts the Michigan event in jeopardy, it also (mostly) confirms the Indianapolis event. But Kaymer is not 100% certain.
"I know that Indianapolis most likely is happening," he said. "Michigan, highly unlikely. So basically, what we already knew."
LIV Golf's 2026 struggles
LIV Golf's financial struggles have been well-documented. Most recently, Mobii Systems Group Ltd. sued LIV Golf for allegedly failing to pay their bills and owing more than $1 million in unpaid invoices and lost revenue.
Prior to that, on April 30 this year, Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund announced that it would stop pouring money into the league after this season.
In June this year, O'Neil told CNBC that he was trying to raise $300 million to keep LIV alive after this season. In that conversation, O'Neil was asked whether or not the final four tournaments of the season would happen. He did not give a straight answer, merely stating "What I can guarantee is a heck of a return if you come invest in this business."
