McClements misses out on swimming medal

Barry McClements missed out on a second Commonwealth Games medal as he finished sixth in the men's 100m butterfly S10 final.
McClements, who won Team Northern Ireland's first swimming medal at the Games in 2022 when he picked up a bronze in the 100m S9 backstroke, registered a time of 1:01.92.

The quartet of Danielle Hill, Emily Hughes, Ellie McCartney and Victoria Catterson also finished sixth in the women's 4x100m freestyle relay final in a time of 3:41.39.
There were no medals in the women's 200m backstroke final either as Grace Davison and Lottie Cullen finished seventh and eighth with times of 2:12.25 and 2:13.91 respectively.
Conor Ferguson and Paddy Johnston both missed out on qualification for the 50m backstroke final as they came in eighth in their respective semi-finals with times of 25.85 seconds and 25.63.
Alana Burns-Atkin, who had qualified for the women's 50m butterfly semi-final after one of the qualifiers withdrew, also finished eighth in a time of 27.52.
