Former NFL wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was seen working with the New England Patriots' wide receivers during a contested catch drill at Day 1 of training camp practice on Saturday.

On Friday, Vrabel indicated that Hopkins would be working with the team in a coaching capacity. The five-time All-Pro receiver hasn't officially retired from the NFL, but he appears to be exploring his potential post-playing career option as a coach.
It's a win for the Patriots getting an elite talent like Hopkins in the building to work with some of the younger receivers on the roster. Having Hopkins and A.J. Brown in the same building in any capacity represents a treasure trove of infinite wisdom for the other players on the roster.

This is certainly a positive development for the Patriots. Hopkins has over 13,000 receiving yards in his career and 85 total touchdowns. He knows what it’s like to play at a high level, and he could be an asset to a Patriots offense hoping to take things to the next level in 2026.
