Renegades blaze through Fastpitch Midwest bracket

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – The 18U Fastpitch Midwest Regional continued on Saturday with bracket play opening up.

Both the Hot Shots and South Dakota Renegades were victorious in their first two matchups of the afternoon, setting up juggernaut matchup between the two teams in the semifinals.
The Renegades took down the Hot Shots 5-2 in four innings after a four-run second inning. Emily Akkerman tossed five strikeouts and one walk in the win while Kennedy Fitts, Keni Kokenge, and Hayden Kok each recorded two hits.
The Renegades will play the winner of the loser’s bracket at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday at Sanford Diamonds.
