The Minnesota Lynx are already having a great season being led by rookie Olivia Miles.
There are rumors that Napheesa Collier could actually be moved before the upcoming WNBA trade deadline, but there are plenty of other options for the Lynx to consider, too.
One of them is a trade for more shooting.
USA Today's Mitchell Northam wrote in a new article on Tuesday that a logical target for the Lynx is Chicago Sky rookie Sydney Taylor.
Taylor was undrafted, but she's shining bright so far in her professional career.
"If there is an area where the Lynx could use a boost heading into the second half of the season it's guard depth and 3-point shooting," Northam writes. "Louisville product Taylor checks both boxes and has proven in her first full WNBA season she’s capable of playing in this league. Taylor is averaging 14.2 points a game, but perhaps more importantly for the Lynx, is shooting a solid 34% from 3-point land and ranks fifth in the WNBA in 3-pointers made per 40 minutes with 3.9."
On the one hand, it's fair to wonder why Chicago would trade Taylor at this point. She's been everything they could've hoped for and more.
There's a flip side, though, and that's this: The Sky have exceeded any value they could've hoped for from Taylor. By trading her now, they cash in on what she has become, rather than risking a decline that leaves them with nothing.
It would be fun for the Lynx if it worked out, because they'd have a sharpshooter alongside Miles for years to come.
It'll be worth watching, for sure, because if Taylor is on the block, a bunch of teams could be interested.
